Our team of home caregivers is uniquely qualified and ready to help 

Every member of our team of home caregivers is professional and well trained. We conduct a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify the best home care providers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of assisted living and become Comfort Keepers®. What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others. 

All Comfort Keepers home caregivers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education. They are bonded, insured and covered by workers' compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families.

The Team

David Coker

Franchise Owner since 2003 in Florence, Sumter, Columbia and Charleston

David and his wife Julie married in 2000 and have three children.  They opened their first Comfort Keepers office in Florence in 2003.  Eventually he expanded services by opening Offices in Sumter in 2008, Columbia in 2013 and Charleston in 2019.  David graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 1997. 

 

TeAnna McFarland

Internal Care Coordinator

TeAnna graduated from Coker College with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish.  She has also has experience with Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company. She has been with Comfort Keepers since 2015. TeAnna is responsible for assisting clients with all their Scheduling needs and providing excellent Customer Service.  

Jennifer Oppel

External Care Coordinator

Jennifer has years of Social Work experience.  Her role is to provide training and quality care to clients and their families. She makes regular home visits to ensure customer satisfaction, and also to help caregivers with the training or support they may need to best care for our clients.  Jennifer has been with Comfort Keepers since February 2018.

Amy Young

HR Recruitment Coordinator

Amy has been with Comfort Keepers since February 2017.  She recruits, interviews and screens potential candidates for employment.  In addition, she assists with Orientation and the On-boarding process.  Amy has years of experience in the healthcare field.  She has a CNA license and is also a SC Licensed Insurance Agent.  

Dee Hook

Sales, Marketing and Community Relations

Dee joined our Sales Team in February 2019.  She has many years of experience in Marketing in the Healthcare field.  Her primary role is to promote Comfort Keepers services and educate the community about options for in-home care.

Shauntai Person

Human Resources Recruiter

Shauntai joined our Comfort Keepers Team in May 2019.  She has over 10 years of experience in the Admin/HR field. She recruits, interviews and screens potential candidates for employment.  She graduated from Dreher High School and South University. She is also a Registered Medical Assistant.  Shauntai is married, has three sons and enjoys family time, yoga and watching movies.
